
A unique Lake District shopping experience has revealed the latest store to join it.
Spinning Jennies, in the former Beales department store in Kendal is set to open next year. It is an ambitious project to redevelop the Finkle Street property into a multi-use food and retail hub with an emphasis on Cumbrian produce and makers.
It has been announced that Penn, stocking only Cumbrian products including homeware and clothing, will open in spring.
Spinning Jennies’ retail director Paul Tidswell has been travelling across the county, meeting crafters not currently selling their creations in Kendal.
Retail designer Anna Twyford has been working closely with Paul to create an original and inspiring retail store featuring over 30 makers.
Penn joins Lake District farm shop A Day’s Walk in the new development.
