Rescue teams have helped a woman retrieve vital medication from her stranded car.
Coniston Mountain Rescue Team were called out this morning at around 10.20am to Grizedale Forest for an urgent retrieval mission.
Crew members were asked to help the woman who desperately needed to collect vital medication for her friend from her car that had been stranded in the snow over the weekend.
The local pharmacy also did not stock the particular medication needed – so the team picked up the woman from Hawkshead and made the drive to Grizedale.
While road conditions had improved – increased temperatures this morning led to the area being covered in slush and banked up snow on roadsides.
The vehicle was safely recovered and the woman was able to deliver the essential medication to her friend.
Four team members were involved and the drive took an hour and 40 minutes.
