Emergency services searched a West Cumbrian river last night after an unaccompanied canoe was found.
The incident was reported to Cumbria police shortly before 8pm yesterday, July 23 at the River Derwent, north east of Workington Bridge.
The canoe was recovered near the What3Words location crops.harmonica.suppers.
Cumbria police said no people had been reported missing in the area and there were no sightings of anyone getting into difficulty in the water, but emergency services were conducting searches in case anyone had fallen in and got into trouble.
Officers said they would like to hear from anyone who believes the canoe belongs to them or anyone who has any other information which may assist.
The canoe owner is asked to call 999.
