Cockermouth are still looking for their first win in Regional 2 North after losing 33-17 at home to Middlesbrough.
But once again there was plenty of commitment and determination from the Wasps, and they weren’t blessed with much luck either.
They had got off to a bad start conceding a try in the first phases of the game and losing influential flanker Ben Irving in the process through injury.
But by the 50th minute they were still very much in contention as a try from James Hunter, converted by Jake Moore who added a penalty, had them trailing 12-10.
It was at that point the Cockermouth players and their supporters thought they fell foul of the referee’s decisions and the visitors scored two converted tries to move clear.
The Wasps did manage to finish the game on top with a try under the posts from the impressive man of match Ryan Hetherington and Moore tacked on the conversion.
