Have you fancied trying your hand at acting but can’t find an option to do this without having to sing and dance too?

Well, Pure Drama may well be the thing you’ve been searching for.

Why not come along to one of our group acting classes and discover the opportunity to explore stage skills, tell stories and build up your acting ability?

You’ll have lots of fun playing games, learning techniques and working with others, whilst also becoming a confident communicator and creating fabulous theatrical moments which you can be proud of!

Pure Drama specialises in producing performances that allow everyone to feel involved and important.

We don’t always perform well-known plays or West End favourites, instead we might use improvisation to explore and devise our own material, or adapt stories from books and reimagine how they could come to life on a stage.

At times we might work on acting pieces individually or in twos or threes, giving everyone a focused chance to develop their own acting ability and really see how they can draw audiences in to the story they’re creating.

Pure Drama was founded by Susan Baxter, a drama practitioner with over 25 years experience, both of performing herself and also leading workshops and writing plays with adults and young people in a wide variety of community settings.

Having recently moved back to Cumbria, after a few years ‘down south’, Susan wanted to develop similar lessons here as she delivered elsewhere in the country.

‘I loved Pure Drama classes. It was a great way to build confidence to stand and perform in front of people. Before when I’d done acting classes, its been more about singing and dancing, but Susan’s classes are pure drama, which I enjoyed!”

Isabella, Milton Keynes
