Four lorries have been hit by rocks thrown off a footbridge over the M6 at Carlisle.
Police are investigating the incident, which happened yesterday, January 5, at around 8.15pm.
The rocks were thrown off Garlands footbridge, which passes over the motorway between junctions 43 and 42.
All four HGVs were travelling south at the time of the incident. No one was injured, however damage was caused to all four vehicles.
Three HGVs had smashed windscreens and one HGV had a rock thrown directly through a sunroof, narrowly missing both the driver and passenger as it landed in the cab.
It is believed that the people throwing the rocks were recording the incident on their mobile phone while committing the offence.
Police said they would like to speak to anyone that has information which could assist with this investigation or anyone that has seen a video of the offence being committed.
