Kendal started their run of games against the top three in Regional 1 North West with a 45-14 defeat at Rossendale.
They also have to visit Macclesfield and Blackburn but Rossendale look title favourites having scored at least 40 points in every game so far.
Despite the scoreline, and coming away with no League points, it was the best performance for some time.
Kendal started the better, forcing a number of errors and penalties and Aaron Stephens put one over for a 3-0 lead after four minutes.
Rossendale had to wait until the 14th minute to score their first try, and it was an effort from close in as Liam Canning was driven over and Lewis Allen added the conversion.
When Kendal were awarded a penalty for handing on the ground Stephens collected three more points with a successful kick.
Rossendale took a similar option when they had a penalty and Allen put it over for a 10-6 lead.
The second home try came from a drive by Canning who had Jonny Leota supporting well to take the pass and score by the posts for Allen to convert.
Just before the half hour mark, Kendal cut the deficit from a kick through by Stephens. It was Ben Dixon who won the chase, hacked on and then gathered well to score an unconverted try.
Although Stephens missed the conversion attempt he landed a penalty before the break to leave Kendal trailing by only 17-14 when they ended the half.
Early in the second-half Rossendale applied strong pressure and Kendal had Dixon yellow carded.
It was no surprise as the Rossendale pressure mounted when they scored again. Full back Zac Stephens burst into the line to go over and Allen added the conversion.
Rossendale scored again when Adam Howard crashed over for their bonus point try, again converted by Allen.
Right at the end of the 80 minutes the hosts scored again from a penalty lineout with Canning collected the throw at the back of the line to go over.
In the final minute of time added on a tap penalty and a drive by the forwards ended with Matt Lamprey crashing over and Allen completed a good afternoon’s work as kicker with a 100% success rate.
