A meeting will be held to address concerns over speeding on Walney Island.
Simon Fell, the MP for Barrow and Furness, has arranged the meeting, at The King Alfred, on Walney, at 6pm on Tuesday February 13.
Mr Fell said he had received a flurry of emails from constituents regarding concerns over speeding on Walney in December, which he raised with Cumbria police and the highways team at Westmorland and Furness Council, asking them to investigate the issues raised further.
The public meeting will take place to discuss these issues further. All concerned local residents are invited to attend, and representatives of the council and police have also been invited.
Mr Fell said: “I share the concerns of my constituents and wish to see safety restored in these roads as soon as possible.
“To better understand the situation and resolve this, it’s important to get all those concerned together to discuss this matter and strategise how we can best deliver a solution.”
