Joe Garner has made a deadline day move from Carlisle United to National League side Oldham Athletic on a free transfer.
Garner, 35, has made 26 appearances this season, scoring four goals. Over his four spells at Brunton Park, the popular striker has made 119 appearances and scored 33 goals.
Manager Paul Simpson said: “Joe has been fantastic for us. He came in and did the job we wanted and helped us achieve promotion as an important member of the squad last year.
“This is a chance for him to be closer to home and extend his career with an extra year on his contract which we all felt was the best thing to do.
“I’d like to thank Joe for everything he’s done and wish him all the best in the future.”
Blackburn-born Garner signed youth forms for his home-town club without making a senior appearance and Carlisle were the first club he played for in 2007 on loan. He signed for the Brunton Park club the following season.
Less than a year after joining the Blues he moved to Notts Forest for a reported £1.14million deal and he subsequently played for Huddersfield, Scunthorpe, Watford, Carlisle again, Preston, Rangers, Ipswich, Wigan, Fleetwood and dove-tailing it all with a return to Carlisle.
