A bid for 99 new homes in a West Cumbrian village have been given the go-ahead.
Genesis Homes wants to build the Derwent Rise development in Seaton, near Workington, which will include 18 affordable homes.
As part of the proposal, the housebuilder will create a pond to provide extra drainage capacity in the village, as well as serving the development site.
Nicky Gordon, chief executive of Genesis Homes, said: “Installing the pond as part of our upcoming project will help to alleviate flooding experienced elsewhere in the area, and will effectively serve the housing development sites.”
Work is due to start on Derwent Rise in spring, with the sales launch of homes scheduled for summer.
