Barrow moved into the automatic play-off places in League Two with another narrow home victory.
A goal from loan signing Cole Stockton was enough to collect maximum points against visitors MK Dons.
Although behind 60-40% on possession figures Barrow created more chances than their opponents.
Keeper Filip Marschall produced his first save when he did well to turn Elliot Newby’s effort past the post.
Sam Foley and Kian Spence both had good opportunities but couldn’t take them in a goal-less first half.
The misses continued when Dom Telford missed another chance but the biggest miss came from Foley when he fired over when he got on the end of a Dean Campbell cross at the far post.
Barrow finally made the breakthrough on 72 minutes when substitute Ben Whitfield played in Stockton to drive in his first goal for the club.
There was another chance when Whitfield saw an accurate cross headed over by Jamie Proctor.
Whitfield then brought out a good save from Marschall at the near-post and MK Dons could have snatched a point in added time when Joe Tomlinson had their best chance of the game and home keeper Paul Farman made a great save.
