Lake District ‘riverside paradise’ on market for £15,000

Ever fancied owning a Lake District riverbank? Now might be your chance.

H&H Land & Estates has brought to market a unique chance to own a private piece of Lake District land with 95 metres of frontage to the River Derwent – for a guide price of just £15,000.

Situated within the boundary of Portinscale village the plot extends to 0.88 acres of amenity land just outside Keswick and enjoys views of Skiddaw and surrounding fells.

H&H Land & Estates said the riverbank is hidden but accessible, and that fishing rights are available by arrangement with the Keswick Anglers Association.

The land is principally down to grass, includes several mature oak and sycamore trees and is protected as a Site of Scientific Interest and a Special Area of Conservation.

H&H Land & Estates associate director, Rachel Bagshaw said: “This really is an unmissable chance to acquire your own private riverside paradise in the most beautiful Lake District setting.

“It could hardly be more picturesque and peaceful or more convenient, and it simply has to be seen and experienced to be believed.”
