Conspiracy theorists and alt-right commentators are to headline a new West Cumbrian festival this spring.
The festival in May will see prominent names in the alternative truth movement – from far right columnist Katie Hopkins to former footballer Matt Le Tissier, who has peddled anti-Covid vaccine conspiracy theories over the past few years – gather in a field between Distington and Gilgarran for the three-day event.
Billed as the first festival of its kind, organisers say it will offer ‘uplifting talks and inspiring solutions’.
Other speakers include other Covid-19 conspiracy theorists, anti-vaxxers, a man who wants to be appointed leader of the United Kingdom and a New World Order activist.
It has been organised by Kev and Nic – no surnames are provided – who say on the festival’s website that they are part of the Buxton Freedom Hub.
Cumbria Crack reached out to the festival for comment but has yet to have a response.
