Vince Brand is one of Cumbria Crack’s sports photographers whose speciality is rugby union – particularly Cockermouth.

A supporter of the club, he’s usually to be found on the touchline at Strawberry How snapping the first team in action.

But this weekend Vince took the opportunity to take pictures of the Under-9s game between Cockermouth and Whitehaven.

At that age they don’t record score and scorers, it’s all about loving to enjoy the game and learn the basics which hopefully will encourage them to play the game for many years.

Vince said: “The struggle is just the same! Cockermouth Under-9s clashed with Whitehaven in a spirited rugby match.

“It was a joy to witness these young lads giving it their all, fuelled by the encouragement of parents and grandparents, under the guidance of dedicated coaches.

“Great camaraderie on display with hot dogs back in the clubhouse to reward there efforts. Well done all.”
