A man has died following a house fire in Carlisle.
Fire crews from Carlisle West, Brampton and Penrith attended the fire, which happened on Brisco Road at 10.29am this morning.
The fire involved the home’s living room and teams removed one person from the property who was then handed over the ambulance teams. The man was later pronounced dead.
Two breathing apparatus, one hose reel jet, one thermal imaging camera and positive pressure ventilation was used. Crews attended for two hours.
Police also attended the incident as part of the emergency response and said the death is not being treated as suspicious at this time.
Brisco Road remains closed both ways.
