It was Whitehaven Cup action for the Cumberland County League clubs on Saturday as the competition entered the second round.

Premier Division outfit Cleator Moor Celtic Reserves were 6-1 winners against Cockermouth from Division One.

Goals from James Bell (2), Robbie Bagley, Kieran Maguire, Josh Charlton and Ben McCarron fired Celtic into the quarter finals. Conor Cooke netted Cockermouth’s goal.

Division One Keswick beat opponents Gosforth from the Premier Division with a double from Dave Gaskell, a goal from Charlie Robson and an own goal by the west Cumbrians.

In the second all Division One tie, Whitehaven AFC Reserves hosted Whitehaven Miners Social Development in a derby fixture and it was the home side that got through with a 3-0 win.

A Shane Tyson brace and a Connor Kilgour strike found the back of the Miners net to send Whitehaven AFC Reserves into the next round.

Three fixtures were postponed due unplayable pitches: Whitehaven Miners Social v Dearham Utd; Wigton Harriers v Unisun Athletic; Aspatria v Mirehouse.
