Rail services cancelled between Carlisle and Workington for up to four weeks

Train services between Carlisle and Workington are cancelled for up to four weeks due to urgent repairs needed to a railway bridge.

Services between Workington and Carlisle are disrupted as Network Rail has advised the bridge needs extensive repairs.

Tickets will be accepted by Avanti and TransPennine Express on any service that runs between Carlisle-Penrith-Lancaster both ways until March 8.

A rail replacement bus serviced is place between Workington and Carlisle calling at Flimby, Maryport, Aspatria, Wigton, Dalston and Carlisle both ways.

Onward train connections can be made from Workington towards Barrow/Lancaster.
