Workington Comets’ second home match of the season has been postponed.
The Comets should have raced against Scunthorpe Scorpions in the BSN Series tomorrow, Saturday April 6, but it was called off this morning.
A Comets spokesman said: “With the incoming Storm Kathleen set to hit the UK there is up to 70mph winds heading for Cumbria. Therefore, with regard to safety the match has been postponed.
“A new date will be confirmed as soon as possible.”
The first match of the season should have been the BSN Series meeting at Scunthorpe on Good Friday but that was also postponed after heavy rain flooded the track.
Workington have ridden home and away against Berwick Bandits so far, losing out on aggregate for the Border Trophy.
