A recently revamped Lake District hotel has been handed a top accolade by the AA.
The Langdale Chase, on the shore of Windermere, closed its doors in September 2022 and reopened in October 2023 for the overhaul by owners Daniel Thwaites.
It was billed as the most extensive refurbishment of the Grade II-listed building since it opened as a hotel in 1937.
The hotel has now been given five stars by the AA.
To be given five stars, a hotel must meet stringent criteria. These include exceptional levels of proactive service and customer care, luxurious accommodation and public areas, a hotel open seven days a week all year.
General manager Mike Vincent said: “This is another fantastic accolade for the hotel and testament to the team’s commitment to producing exceptional services for our guests, day in and day out.
“Having reopened just 5 months ago, Langdale Chase has now achieved five-star status and been crowned The Times’ North Hotel of the Year 2024.
“We’re excited to see what the future holds and will continue to focus on creating a unique and memorable experience which keeps guests coming back time and time again.”
