Tributes have been paid to a West Cumbrian doorman who has died suddenly.
Andrew McKain died yesterday.
He was head doorman at Workington bar The Junction and also worked the JJ McKeown bar at Whitehaven Rugby League’s Recreation Ground on match days.
Whitehaven Rugby League said on social media: “Shortly before the match yesterday the club were devastated to find out of the passing of Andrew McKain.
“Andrew had been a regular face on the doors of the JJ McKeown bar on a match day keeping our fans safe.
“All our thoughts are with the McKain family at this difficult and extremely sad time.”
The Junction said they had lost a good friend, who always had their backs and would be closed until further notice.
