Distington’s Walled Garden fete has been cancelled due to predicted adverse weather.
The Cumberland Council event was planned for this Saturday, April 13 – but has been called off for public safety.
A spokesperson from the council said: “Unfortunately, due to the adverse weather forecast and saturated ground conditions we have had to cancel the spring fete which was due to take place this Saturday.
“This wasn’t an easy decision to make, but the safety of our visitors and traders is our main priority.
“We apologise for any disappointment this may cause. Future events are planned in July and September.”
