Wetherspoon boss Sir Tim Martin was spotted in the pub chain’s Woodrow Wilson enjoying gammon and chips.
Thomas Underwood was with his friends when he saw the businessman in the back corner of the Botchergate pub in Carlisle.
Thomas said: “He was sat in the back corner table eating gammon and chips and drinking John Smiths.
“He was having a good night! He was sat having drinks and talking to the staff and patrons.
“It looked like it was a surprise visit.”
Brexit supporting Sir Tim is said to visit around 15 Wetherspoon pubs a week.
