Kendal Town have sent their congratulations to Charnock Richards who pipped them to the NW Counties League promotion play-offs.
The Mintcakes looked to have secured the final play-off place after a 2-2 draw at Burscough but Charnock Richard still had four games to play.
In a remarkable six days they responded magnificently and won all four games – any of them ending in a draw would have put them out of contention.
Kendal’s Facebook post congratulating their rivals said: “Four wins in a week is a tremendous effort.”
Charnock Richard had beaten Pilkington 2-0 on Saturday in their final game to clinch their play-off berth and they will go to Bury tonight in the semi-final. Padiham are at Wythenshawe Town in the other.
