Barrow Raiders will be looking to bounce back from a heavy defeat last week at Sheffield when they host Batley Bulldogs.

The Raiders only have two teams below them in the Championship table, although the four above them – Batley, Whitehaven, Halifax and Toulouse – are all on the same number of points with them.

Both of the Raiders’ league wins have been on home soil while Batley have good memories of their last trip to Cumbria as they beat Whitehaven last month.

Head coach Paul Crarey said: “Batley will be a tough test because they are good at the grind and are a side who never throw in the towel.”

He has named a 21-man squad to face the Bulldogs and there are four changes from last week with Matt Costello back in the mix after being forced to sit out last weekend due to HIA concussion protocols.

Kavan Rothwell, Aaron Smith and Shane Toal are also named in the squad as Finley Beardsworth, Tom Forber, Tom Walker and the suspended Ryan Johnston make way.

The squad is: Max Anderson-Moore, Luke Broadbent, Andrew Bulman, Greg Burke, Brett Carter, Max Clarke, Matt Costello, Luke Cresswell, Ellis Gillam, Delaine Gittens-Bedward, James Greenwood, Finn McMillan, Mike Ogunwole, Kevan Rothwell, Ryan Shaw, Razor Silva, Aaron Smith, Shane Toal, Brad Walker, Tom Wilkinson, Josh Wood.
