Whitehaven will be bidding for a third successive Championship win on Sunday when they host struggling North Wales Crusaders.

But coach James Newton has insisted there will be no complacency from his players after the Welsh side were crushed 134-0 by league leaders London Broncos yesterday.

Newton has been reflecting on a fine 30-24 win by his team at Midlands Hurricanes which the coach regarded as the best performance of the season.

He regarded the first half as an exceptional effort from the Haven players as they built a 16-4 advantage and felt, in the end, the result flattered Midlands.

Newton gives his thoughts on the big win at Midlands Hurricanes and what comes next at the Ortus Rec below:

It will be important for Haven to register a third successive win this coming Sunday – with good support from the terraces – as it is their only home game in June.

They finish the month with tough trips to Sheffield and Newcastle Thunder so one home fixture makes life for any club.
