Get ready for some bank holiday fun with a battle of the bands competition in Workington.

Six bands will be fighting for the chance to win £500 at the event, held at the Fibrus Community Stadium on Sunday, May 26.

The Misfits, Velocity, Antics, Listen Twice, Steel Foxes and Somethin’ Brewin’ will all be competing for the audience’s votes.

Also playing are Colt 45 and last year’s winners No Good Reason.

Following on from the success of last year’s event, local businessman Adrian Sharp said he decided to repeat the event.

He said: “This year will hopefully be bigger and better, but we’re keeping the ticket prices the same. It promises to be a great day and the bands will be playing all your favourite songs, from Abba to ACDC.”

Early bird tickets are £6, available on the Workington Town website or from the Workington Town shop. Tickets will be available on the door at £10.

Doors open at noon and the event runs until 11pm.
