A Lake District hotel has welcomed a Premier League star for a short break.

Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva stayed at the Lodore Falls Hotel, near Keswick, with his family. Silva had a short stay at the hotel on Monday night, after his involvement in the Sky Blues’ 5-1 win over Wolves last weekend.

Ilir Thomollari, deputy general manager of the hotel said the Portuguese footballer had plans to come back after an enjoyable stay.

He said: “Hosting Bernardo Silva and his family was an absolute delight for us at the hotel.

“The group were all very friendly and complimentary about their stay at the Lodore Falls Hotel & Spa, using it as an opportunity to enjoy some family time.

“Upon leaving, Silva had expressed his plans to return with just his wife in future so they would have the opportunity to visit The Falls Spa during their stay – an activity they did not have time for on this occasion as they had their eight-month-old daughter with them.”

He also took his dogs for walks in the area. His stay comes just a week after Lodore Falls was shortlisted in the Best Destination Spa category in the 2024 Good Spa Guide Awards.
