Carlisle Cycling Association have taken the decision to cancel racing at the cycle circuit in Harraby tonight.
The sixth event in the association’s evening league was due to be held with races scheduled for all children’s age groups and adults.
However, with riders booked from as far afield as Glasgow and Newcastle as well as West Cumbria and Carlisle the organisers have decided to cancel the evening’s racing.
While many of the riders are well used to racing in wet conditions, there are multiple roads affected by flooding and with further rain forecast, race officials don’t want anyone taking risks on the roads and ask that no-one travels to the circuit this evening.
The series will continue as planned on Thursday June 13 – weather permitting!
