Cumbrian teenagers looking for affordable and sustainable promwear are being invited to a pop-up shop later this month.
Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw Cumbria’s Children’s Hospice are hosting the promwear pop-up shop in Carlisle’s The Lanes shopping centre, opposite Muffin Break. It will be open from 12pm until 4pm on the May 28 and then from 10am until 4pm for the rest of the week.
The ‘House of Eden’ pop-up is aiming to help young people and their families who are in need of more affordable promwear, or who are passionate about sustainable fashion.
Shoppers can also use fitting rooms at the pop-up – giving them the chance to find the perfect outfit.
The charity said that prom can be a huge expense for families and that it hoped the shop would be a chance for young people to find high, quality or brand new clothing for prom – while also raising vital funds for the charity, which cares for adults, children and families from across the county.

All funds raised from the pop-up will go directly towards supporting patients and their families who require the care that the hospice provides 24 hours, seven days a week.
The hospice costs £13,150 to run as an organisation daily and the charity added that initiatives such as the pop-up are crucial to helping raise these funds.
The pop-up has been made possible with the help of local people, who have donated prom dresses, suits and accessories to the charity.
Alex Groves, the hospice’s business development manager, said: “We’d like to thank our local community for once again supporting us heavily and donating a range of high-quality promwear.

“Our team can’t wait to open the doors of the pop-up shop and look forward to providing young people the opportunity to get a great looking outfit at an affordable price, while supporting the care the hospice gives local patients and their families.”
Donations to the prom pop-up shop are still being welcomed.
To donate your prom wear you can drop at any of the charity’s shops in Carlisle, or alternatively you can drop off directly at the hospice on Durdar Road.
