A former Kendal College student has landed a major role in a new West End musical.
Georgie Buckland, who studied performing arts at the college, will star as Andy Sachs in Elton John’s musical based on the iconic film The Devil Wears Prada.
It is Georgie’s West End Debut after she finished a UK and Ireland tour as Gingy in Shrek the Musical.
After her time at Kendal College, Georgie went on to study at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland before her professional career kicked off.
The college’s head of creative arts, Hilary Pezet, said: “I speak for the entire college community when I say how proud and excited we are for Georgie.

“We can’t wait to take our students to London to witness her talent in action.
“Georgie was a shining star during her time at Kendal College, leading several shows, including Spring Awakening and Urine Town at the Brewery Arts Centre.
“Georgie has supported Kendal College with industry guidance, Q&As, and student performance feedback during our show rehearsals.
“It has been great for students to work with a professional performer in the industry and act as inspiration for what can be achieved with much hard work. We can’t wait for the show!”
