A man has been arrested after an assault in Whitehaven.
It happened today, Sunday June 23, in the New Street area of the town.
Copeland police said: “This evening police received a 999 call regards an incident of assault in the area of New Street, Whitehaven.
“Officers arrived at the scene within three minutes of the 999 call being placed.
“A 33-year-old man was arrested close to the location and remains in police custody at this time.
“We take incidents of this nature seriously and encourage anyone witnessing violence or anti-social behaviour to contact us immediately.”
