Over 1,100 properties in Longtown can now take advantage of full fibre broadband.
Fibrus has been working in the town and thanked people for their patience while workers were in the area.
Reflecting on the latest roll-out, Chris Collins, head of network build at Fibrus, said: “We’re delighted to be able to bring the benefits of our full fibre network to even more communities in Cumbria.
“At Fibrus, we use a full-fibre optic cable all the way to the premises creating a quality and reliability that cannot be achieved any other way.
“This will make a big difference to local businesses and families in Longtown, allowing them to access more reliable broadband rather than having to rely on slow copper wires for their internet.”
Fibrus Community Fund has seen the company invest £60,000 over the last 12 months to tackle digital poverty across Cumbria, including Carlisle Sight Support.
This investment sits alongside Fibrus’ Play it Forward fund, which has been providing grants to nearly 20 Cumbrian grassroots sports clubs and projects including Carlisle Youth Zone and Carlisle Rugby Football Club. It also sponsors the Fibrus 100, the first Cumbrian cricket league for girls.
