Seaton have been presented with the West Cumbria Veterans League winners’ trophy this week after a convincing 8-0 win against Thornhill.
The Seaton goals were scored by Greg Quayle (2), Kevin Holliday (2), Pete O’Donnell, Shaun Johnson, Scott Weston and Phil McLuckie.
The season hasn’t finished though because Seaton now go into a top five play-off competition and after winning all nine League games they will be looking to continue their 100% run.
Their only defeat so far came on penalties when they had drawn 1-1 with Harraby Catholic but went out after the spot kick decider in a quarter final tie.
That means Cleator Moor Celtic and Harraby Catholic Club will contest the final of the County Veterans Cup.
Both had fairly straightforward victories in the semi-finals this week to set up their final showdown on a date and venue to be confirmed.
Celtic were 6-1 winners at Silloth where they went through convincingly with goals from Gareth Evans (2), Leigh Dunn, Gen Meagan, Glynn Edwards and Michael Fidler.
It was a little bit tighter at Penrith, where holders Harraby Catholic Club still had enough in hand as they beat the home side 5-2.
But Celtic won’t be going for a double as they have lost their West Cumbrian League title, finishing runners-up this time to a very good Seaton side.
