Watchtree Nature Reserve Ltd has released a children’s story to inspire love for nature and outdoor adventures.
The Adventures of Flash and Iris has been written by Anja Phoenix of Tale Trails.
It follows the escapades of Flash the Great Crested Newt and Iris the Skylark, as they take the reader on a whimsical history of Watchtree Nature Reserve.
Anja entertains and educates young readers about the beauty and importance of nature conservation.
Ryan Dobson, Watchtree’s manager, said: “We are thrilled to partner with Anja and Tale Trails for this wonderful project. Her creative vision aligns perfectly with our mission to foster a deeper connection between the community and the natural world.”
The Adventures of Flash and Iris is available now from Watchtree Nature Reserve’s visitor centre and the Tourist Information Centre in Carlisle City Centre. The A2 size folded maps are available for free and a downloadable PDF version will be available from Watchtree Nature Reserve’s website.
It has been made possible by a sponsorship agreement from Bimson Haulage and additional funding from Co-op Community Causes, Tesco Stronger Starts, and Noble Trust.
