Emergency services were called to a house fire in Main Road, High Harrington yesterday.
Police were alerted to the incident at 6pm yesterday, Saturday August 10.
There were no injuries and the fire was brought under control by Cumbria Fire and Rescue.
However, a road closure remained in place and people are asked to avoid the area while emergency services continue to work.
The fire was near the Galloping Horse pub.
The nearby Brewery House posted an offer on social media to anyone who have may have been evacuated that they were more than welcome for a hot drink.
