Workington A continue to set the pace in the West Cumbria Fours League sponsored by Whitehaven Trophies.

They proved too strong for Seaton in the latest round of matches, winning by the maximum score of 7-0.

Whitehaven A did not have a game so Fitz Park moved into second place with their 7-0 win at Vulcan Park.

The Keswick side are only six points behind the leaders but have played a game more and have only two matches left to play.

Other results of games played Friday 9 August: Workington B 7, Whitehaven B 0; Cleator Moor 5, Maryport 2.

League standings (games played and points): Workington A 13-79, Fitz Park 14 73, Whitehaven A 13-69, Cleator Moor 14-55, Maryport 15-54, Workington B 14-32, Vulcan Park 13-28, Seaton 14-27, Whitehaven B 16-23..

In the West Cumbria Mixed Triples League there’s just one result to report this week and that was for the postponed game that should have been played on 18 June: Seaton 6, Vulcan Park 3.

League standings (games played and points): Workington 9-63, Whitehaven A 9-60, Wigton 8-51, Croft 9-49, Harris Park A 12-45, Seaton 10-42, Cleator Moor 9-40, Whitehaven B 8-39, Maryport 9-38,, Seascale 8-33, Harris Park B 9-26, Egremont 8-22, Vulcan Park 9-16.
