
Drivers are reminded that a second section of the A595 will close overnight from Monday for roadworks.
Work has already been carried out overnight been Calder Bridge and New Mill from August 5 – and that is due to end tonight, Sunday August 18.
From Monday, August 19, work will start on the second phase from the Stanley Arms to New Mill Farm.
Contractors will be on site from 7pm to 5am Monday to Saturday for four weeks, weather permitting.
The road will reopen every Saturday from 5am until Monday at 7pm and traffic lights may be in use.
Cumberland Council said two-way traffic lights may be in place from 5am to 7pm.
Escort-assisted travel will be possible from 7pm to 10pm, but drivers are warned there may be up to 30-minute delays.
A full road closure will be in place from 10pm to 5am, with a fully signed diversion route.
There will be no work on Bank Holiday Monday, August 26. 2
If anyone needs access to their property or business, they are asked to talk to staff on site.
