Just like Penrith had done, Kendal Town went the same way – knocked out of the FA Cup by a stoppage time goal.
They went down 2-1 to Newcastle Benfield with the winner coming in the third minute of time added on.
James Bailey had headed Kendal Town level on 77 minutes after earlier he had seen his penalty saved by Benfield keeper Andrew Grainger after 13 minutes.

Benfield had taken the lead two minutes before half-time when they got in behind and Glen Hargrave lifted a shot over Chris Cheetham into the net.
It was a game of limited chances but Kendal were certainly lifted by the arrival of substitutes Niall Cowperthwaite and Steve Yawson after 55 minutes.

Yawson set up Matt Dudley but he could only fire straight at the keeper and then it was Yawson on his own going through only to be denied by a smart save from Grainger.
After Bailey put Kendal level it seemed the momentum was with them but at the death it was Hargrave, with his second goal, who took advantage of some slack marking.

Manager Jimmy Marshall said: “I don’t think we deserved to lose but we have to do better in both boxes.
“If you don’t defend your own box well enough or be clinical enough in the opposition box then you’re not going to win football matches.”
