Millom edged nearer Division Two survival in the National Conference when they beat Normanton Knights 30-18.
Back at the end of June Normanton only turned up with 11 players then lost two with injury so the match was abandoned – hence Saturday’s return.
After Lee Postlethwaite had kicked a penalty for Millom the visitors had a player sin-binned for a high tackle.
The Woolybacks responded to that by scoring two tries from Rio McQuistan-Wilson and Jack Newbegin, one of which was converted by Postlethwaite for a 12-0 half-time lead.
Millom had Hadley Thompson sin-binned for use of the head on 50 minutes and Normanton made use of their hosts’ handicap by scoring three converted tries to lead 18-12.
But the home side finished strongly scoring three tries in the last eight minutes to ease their relegation concerns.
Josh Blinkhorn, Niall Harris and David Wear, all converted by Postlethwaite.
Millom are back at home on Saturday against bottom side Myton when a win would virtually guarantee their safety.
