Greysouthen Village Show this weekend

Gary McKee takes on the Grand to Grand

Organisers of Greysouthen Village Show and Family Fun Day are determined to not let the wet weather dampen their spirits.

The event will take place in the village, near Cockermouth, on Saturday, August 31, from 11am.

It will be officially opened by West Cumbria Marathon Man Gary McKee at 11.30am.

People are urged to enter classes in the industrial tent and the playing field, which are sponsored and judged by local businesses

Traders and organisations will be at the event, including Cumbrian Coastal Kitchen, Heart of Eden Crafts, Jimmy Mohawk Premium Spirits, West Coast Crafts, Perfected Presents by Amanda, Love at First Bite by Amber falconry display from Fellside Falconry, Greysouthen YFC, Ice Cream Van, BBQ, Bar, live music from Jackson Jane and Harry Bibby.

A raffle includes prizes from, Wellington Farm, Fellside Candle Co, Keswick Booths, P&R Benn, Cattleguards Luxury Glamping, Derwent Pencils, MTS Workington, Number 41 Cockermouth, Cockermouth Arts & Crafts. The Royal Yew Dean, The Old Posting House, Cockermouth Toy Shop, Aspava, Desire Cockermouth and much much more.

All money raised is going to fund improvements of the village hall the last remaining community building and the show’s chosen charity of the year Hospice at Home West Cumbria.

Entry is £3 per adult and £2 per child which includes entrance onto the field and access to the inflatables.
