The Bluebirds landed a mouth-watering third round tie in the Carabao Cup at Stamford Bridge against Premier League Chelsea.
The Pensioners have attracted lots of attention this season through the size of their playing staff – said to be 43 – before players were assigned to the bomb squad – training with the youth team.
Raheem Sterling is probably the highest profile among those players and Barrow won’t be facing him next month as he’s likely to be with another Premier League club.
Barrow had earned their third round place with a penalty shoot-out win at Holker Street on Tuesday against Championship side Derby County.
There’s a fair chance the tie could be selected for television coverage, which would add useful cash to the Barrow coffers.
