An 18-year-old from Barrow has been sentenced to more than three years in prison following an investigation into drug supply in the town.

Jaydon Morgan, 18, of Manchester Street, was sentenced yesterday, August 30, at Preston Crown Court for being concerned in the supply of cocaine.

Morgan was apprehended following a year-long investigation by South Cumbria’s Community Serious and Organised Crime unit.

During the investigation, a series of raids were executed in the Barrow area at Morgan’s address resulting in him being charged with being concerned in the supply of class A drugs.

Evidence recovered by the investigation showed messages on Morgan’s devices which showed his devices were used in the supply of cocaine within the Barrow area.

He was sentenced to three years and three months in prison.

A spokesman from the South Cumbria unit said: “Tackling the supply of drugs is a priority for Cumbria police and I hope that the communities in which Morgan was operating can take some comfort in the fact he is now behind bars.

“Many people do not realise that by purchasing cocaine they are directly funding violence and exploitation.

“The message is clear – if you are dealing class A drugs in our area we will pursue you and bring you to justice.

“Community intelligence is vital, and I would ask anyone who has any information about drugs supply in their area to contact us.”
