
The Lancaster – one of only two remaining flying examples in the world – has flown over the county.
Part of the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, the Second World War-era bomber had its wings over Windermere yesterday evening. Friday September 6.
The Lancaster only took to the skies for the first time this year in July.
It has undergone extensive pre-planned maintenance, including the manufacture and replacement of the entire tail plane last winter.
