Wath Brow Hornets start their play-off campaign tomorrow with a trip to NCL Premier Division champions Hunslet ARLFC in the elimination semi-final.
Although they finished fifth in the final league table the Hornets are coming into form at the right time and chalked up six straight wins to complete their regular season.
They take a strong squad to Leeds to take on the 2023 champions who finished fourth in the table this time.
Perhaps the only disappointment is that they won’t have the support they deserve as efforts to fill a 30-seater bus for the trip down had to be abandoned. Hopefully there will be a good few travelling by car to back the side.
The only other Cumbrian side involved in the play-offs are Distington in Division Three who entertain Leigh East.
Disappointed to lead the table for most of the season, only to miss out on automatic promotion in the last three weeks, Distington have extra incentive as a heavy defeat at Leigh East three weeks ago cost them dearly.
