Workington were first out of the hat for the third qualifying round of the FA Trophy – and drew Morpeth.
The Northumbrian side are level on points with Reds in the NPL Premier Division but below them on goal difference, although they do have a game in hand.
They are not due to meet in the League until Boxing Day when Workington will be the hosts for the seasonal contest.
After slipping out of the FA Cup at the first hurdle, to North East opposition in Hebburn, Reds boss Mark Fell will want to put together a run in this competition.
For the third round qualifying the winners receive £2,450 while there is £625 for the losers. A run to the quarter finals would net a club £25,000 in prize money.
The game on October 5 will be Reds next at Borough Park as they have no League fixture on Saturday and are playing at Mirehouse in the first round of the Fred Conway County Cup – a trophy Reds have won for the last two years.
The Northern part of the draw is as follows:-
Workington v Morpeth; Blyth Spartans v Stockton Town; City of Liverpool v Macclesfield; Whitby Town v Newton Aycliffe; Ossett United v Prescot Cables; Congleton Town v Hyde United; Trafford v Ashton United; Stocksbridge Park Steels v Warrington Rylands; Guiseley v Bamber Bridge; Hebburn Town v FC United of Manchester; Clitheroe v Lancaster City.
