
A world-leading cross-stitch and embroidery firm has raised over £4,000 for the Lake District Calvert Trust.
Bothy Threads, in Apastria, chose the trust as its charity of the year, with a £5,000 target as it celebrated its 30th anniversary.
From its specialist residential centre on the outskirts of Keswick, the Calvert Trust Lake District offer individuals with a range of disabilities, families, and school groups, the chance to experience everything the Lake District has to offer in a safe and supportive environment.
As a final push for fundraising, Bothy Threads hosted a hog roast and race night at the Greenhill Hotel in Wigton. It also included a raffle and auction.
Chrissie Rayment, managing director of Bothy Threads, said: “We are delighted to announce that due to the fabulous generosity of our guests we raised a spectacular £4,118.

“We would like to say a huge thank you to local businesses for their kind sponsorships, including B&B Dairy, Edwin Thompson, Tynedale Farm Services, Liz’s Country Kitchen, The Old Crown Inn – Hesket Newmarket, and Purdham & Waugh Electricians.
