Two Barrow Raiders players could come up against each other next week in an international between Jamaica and Wales.
Raiders forward Delaine Gittens-Bedward has been named in Jamaica’s 20-man squad while outside back Max Clarke is one of 11 uncapped players in Wales’ 26-man squad for their upcoming autumn internationals.
Gittens-Bedward joined Barrow in April and went on to make eight league appearances. He was also named as 18th man on five other occasions.
Jamaica’s squad for their upcoming test against Wales at the Lextan Gnoll, Neath, primarily features players from the English game – the exception being Sydney Roosters’ Alex Young.
Following Tuesday’s game against Wales, Jamaica will fly out to face Canada in Toronto on Saturday October 19.
Clarke joined Barrow this year after spending the 2023 season with fellow Championship side Bradford Bulls. He also enjoyed a short spell on loan at Doncaster during his time with the Bulls.
Clarke, who stands 6ft 5ins, previously came through the ranks at London Broncos and spent five years there before making the move north to join Sheffield Eagles in February 2021.
