
Penrith earned their best result of the season in Northern League Division One when they won 2-0 at West Auckland.
To record their first away win of the season, keeping a clean sheet against a top five side, and one with an excellent home record, added to the satisfaction of the performance.
Penrith, after their fine start to the season, have suffered through a long list of injured players and it has only been in the last two weeks or so that they have started to get them coming back into the side.
Now almost back to where they had started the season, as far as the squad is concerned, the Bonnyblues are showing what they are capable of.
This was a top class performance from first to last and sets them up nicely for a big week in which they have two home games – Easington Colliery on Tuesday and West Allotment Celtic on Saturday.
They had taken the lead against West Auckland with a goal on 35 minutes from James Bell and they doubled their advantage 14 minutes into the second-half through DJ Taylor.
