Penrith Ladies took a major scalp as they progressed to the first round of the FA Cup.
The Bonnyblues had to go to penalties before winning their third qualifying round game against Tranmere Rovers.
Previous rounds had seen them beat Carlisle United 18-2 and Wallsend BC 3-2 to set up a tough game against Premier league team Tranmere Rovers.
It was Rovers who got off to the better start, scoring from a corner after 15 minutes. They soon doubled their lead capitalising on a mistake in the Penrith defence to open up a 2-0 lead by half-time.

The home side started the second half well and within 15 minutes had levelled the scores.
A good ball over the top released English who made no mistake one-on-one with the keeper.
Soon after it was again English who broke away from the Rovers back four, kept her cool and finished well for her 14th of the season and Penrith’s second.
The game opened-up and both teams had chances before the game finished 2-2 and moved on to penalties.
