The signings keep coming at Whitehaven with yet another player added to the 2025 squad.
Jordan Thomson is returning for a second spell at The Ortus Rec, signing from Betfred League One rivals Workington Town.
Thomson initially joined the club from the then CARLA League side Hensingham on transfer deadline day in 2018 making his debut away to Bradford Bulls.
Thomson remained at the club for the 2019 campaign and overall made 14 appearances in Haven colours before departing the club at the end of that season.
The forward has been plying his trade at Derwent Park since 2021 making 62 appearances scoring six tries.
He has now returned to his hometown club, joining up with coach Anthony Murray at The Ortus Rec and with former Town team-mate Jordan Burns who was announced yesterday.
On returning to the club Thomson said: “I’ve spoken to Muzza about everything the club is building towards
“I wanna be a part of it and it’s a bonus being my hometown club. I know what to expect with Muzza, because he’s a good bloke, man manager and a coach. There are familiarities there and I’m looking forward to it.”
Head coach Murray said: “It’s great to have another local player returning to his home town to play. After previously working with Tomposh, I knew we needed someone in the middle with bags of experience and good leadership qualities and he certainly fits that bill.
“With his experience in the middle he will be instrumental in helping our young pack and guiding them around the middle of the pitch. His work ethic on the pitch and in training will set the standards for our young squad and he will be a positive person in the camp.”
